Glenridge families are invited to attend an online Open House to meet your teachers and Glenridge staff! This is an unstructured event so you can log in and out as you please. Your teachers should be contacting you soon and following up with an email to invite you to their Teams open house.

At 6:00 p.m. on September 1 you should be able to click the email link to be directed to the audio and video meeting with any of your child’s teachers. You are welcome to join your child in logging in from their KSD laptop to make sure you both know how to connect with the teacher. The link should also work from your personal devices including phones and tablets.

This is a meet-and-greet event. The school's curriculum night to discuss the specific curriculum in each grade and classroom will be scheduled for later this month and we will share information about that event as soon as we have the details.
We are disappointed we will not be able to share ice cream and a smile in person for this year’s Back-to-School Social but we are very excited to meet you online and say hello before we start the school year!
The first day of school for Grades 1-12 is Thursday, September 3, 2020. Kindergartners will have an appointment for a short online meeting with the kindergarten team over the first few days of school and will start school officially on Wednesday, September 9.
See you at the open house!

Dear Glenridge Families,

The Glenridge PTO Board stands with our community, around the Puget Sound and across the country, in outrage and grief at the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many other of our Black community members.

The PTO supports Glenridge Elementary because we believe that schools have a significant impact in the lives and health of kids and communities.  All of us - parents and families, teachers and staff, school and district administrators – have a role to play in creating safe, enriching, equitable schools where all kids can thrive.  White members of our community, in particular, must use their privilege to address racism and the inequities in our schools that harm Black students and other students of color.

In the coming days, Glenridge PTO will post educational resources for parents on Black Lives Matter and other anti-racism topics on our social media streams and purchase books that address these issues for our school library and classrooms.  Over the summer break, the Board will identify ways we will partner with our school and the district to take action on these issues, for next school year and the years beyond.

All Glenridge parents and families are members of the PTO, and we need your conversation and engagement to best serve our school.  Please reach out to us at GlenridgePTO@gmail.com and stay connected at http://www.glenridgepto.org/ and https://www.facebook.com/glenridgepto/.

Sincerely,

The Glenridge PTO Board
