Sunrise Elementary School Mustang Musical Theatre to Present “Honk! JR.”

Don’t miss the Sunrise Musical Theatre’s rendition of Honk! JR. Follow the adventures of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks incite taunting and teasing by his family and barnyard neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms. This witty and fun-loving musical emphasizes the importance of believing in oneself and accepting others as they are.

The show runs May 16 and May 17 at 7 p.m., and May 18 at 5 p.m. Tickets are available for $5 per person at the door. Children under the age of 5 are free. Sunrise Elementary School is located on Kent’s East Hill at 22300 132nd Avenue Southeast.

 
Honk! JR. is a contemporary retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling, with music by George Stiles and the book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe. Honk! JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
