PTO WEEKLY UPDATE 11/9/14

PTO Movie Night

Is this a kissing book?
Wait, just wait.
Well, When does it get good?
Keep your shirt on, and let me read.
A classic fairy tale, with swordplay, giants, an evil prince, a beautiful princess, and yes, some kissing. Come see this month's selection Friday, November 14th at 6:30 pm in the Glenridge cafeteria. This is a free event for students and their families.  Concessions will be available for purchase, funds raised will support school programs. This is not a drop off event, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

PTO Meeting
Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00 pm in the Glenridge library. Free childcare is provided for those who need it. Please come to discuss future events and fundraising ideas, we would love your input.

Holiday Breakfast

This year's Holiday Breakfast is Saturday December 6th, 9:00 - 11:00 am. A yummy pancake breakfast, a choir performance, face painting, crafts and a photo booth! Suggested donation of $5 per family that will go to purchasing needed classroom supplies.

We would like  to make the Holiday Breakfast different this year by serving a bigger meal. Our budget will only allow us to purchase the basics:  pancakes, condiments, fruit and juice. We are asking for donations of money for breakfast meats (sausage, bacon, turkey or vegetarian options). If you would like to contribute, please make out checks to Glenridge PTO and write “Holiday Breakfast” on your envelope.

If you would like to volunteer your time
Set up is Friday, December 5th at 3:45 pm and Saturday, December 6th at 7:30 am. Clean up will follow Saturday, December 6th at  11:00. We would love your involvement. Any other suggestion of how we can make this a bigger and better occasion is welcome! Send all offers of help and suggestions to glenridgepto@gmail.com.

“Kindergarteners are on the counting train to 100.  They are practicing counting to 100 by ones and tens-they love jumping, hopping and jogging to get to 100.  We are learning about Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.  And, don't forget those letters and sounds!” -Ms. Rahn, Mrs. Manning and Mrs. Whalen

Boxtopoly

Have your kids told you about our new contest?  It's called Boxtopoly! The first class to fill their game board with Box Tops* from the listed participating brands will win a fun surprise!

How to play:

  • Check your pantry, look for products that match the brands listed on the 25 spaces around the playing board.
  • Clip both the Box Top and the brand logo** from the package.
  • Send both the Box Top and the logo to school with your student (an envelope or sandwich bag will prevent them from being lost).
  • Your teacher will add the Box Top to the board and the logo will be placed in a collection envelope.
  • The first class to collect a Box Top and a logo that match each game space will be rewarded!
  • Contact your teacher to get updates on your class board.
