PTO WEEKLY UPDATE 01/18/15

Shout out to: Ivar’s Seafood Bar in Kent for supporting Glenridge.  The Glenridge staff for giving up their Thursday evening to serve us dinner and clean up after us. All the families who came out and had dinner, cookies and bought raffle tickets.

Volunteer three hours of your time for your child and Glenridge and you will be entered in a raffle to win a prize! G.I.V.E. for Glenridge flyers went home Friday January 16, 2015. Ask in the office or contact the PTO for more details.

Box Top and Labels for Education Contest Our newest contest is in full swing, gather all the Box Tops and Labels for Education you've been saving and send them in to school in a bag/envelope marked with the name of the student and teacher.  The class that collects the most will win a pizza party!  Turn them in anytime before February 23rd to be counted in the contest.  All proceeds go to field trip transportation and school programs.

In the Classroom Fifth grade students are participating in the Woodland Park Zoo amphibian conservation program called Ready, Set, Discover. The program engages students in developing a deeper understanding of ecosystems with hands-on scientific inquiry. The program begins with research on zoo grounds, moves into our community with a visit to a local park, continues with research in our schoolyard, and ends with students presenting their findings to zoo naturalists.

A vengeful fairy is driven to curse an infant princess, only to discover that the child may be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land. Come see this months selection on PTO movie night Friday, January 23rd at 6:30pm in the Glenridge cafeteria. This is a free event for students and their families. Concessions will be available for purchase; funds raised will support school programs. This is not a drop off event; children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. PTO Meeting Join us for our next meeting Tuesday, February 3rd 7:00 pm. Free childcare provided.

Are you interested in carrying on the tradition of Popcorn Fridays? We need parents who are willing to come out once or twice a month on Friday afternoons, come pop popcorn and sell it during afternoon recess, training is available.
