PTO WEEKLY UPDATE 02/01/15

Shout Out To:   All the parents who have made flyers and helped sort them into teacher boxes. The art docent volunteers who teach monthly art lessons in our children’s classrooms. PTO meeting: Join us for our next meeting Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Childcare is provided.

Box Top and Labels for Education Contest Our newest contest is in full swing, gather all the Box Tops and Labels for Education you've been saving and send them in to school in a bag/envelope marked with the name of the student and teacher.  The class that collects the most will win a pizza party!  Turn them in anytime before February 23, 2015 to be counted in the contest.  All proceeds go to field trip transportation and school programs. Glenridge Family Ice Skating Night Come visit with friends and show off your ice skating skills at the Sno-King Ice Arena , Friday, February 13, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:15 pm. Skate rental and skating session are $8 a person, 50% of proceeds go to Glenridge.

What kids love about PE at Glenridge: These are some things that kids around school have mentioned when asked “what do you love about PE?” Playing games: Pac Man Tag, Battleship, and Chase Race. The Golden Football Award: given at each assembly to the class who has shown the best participation in PE. A golden color football that is displayed in their classroom for the month. Coach Oats (Mr. Oughton): he lifts up his arms, kisses his muscles and says “argghh”. He is very popular around Glenridge.  Book Fair An amazing selection of books is headed your way!  At the Book Fair you will find something for everyone. Be sure to stop by the library after your meeting with your teacher and take something fun to read home! Book Fair Hours: February 9, 2015 - February 12, 2015 Monday and Tuesday: 9:00 am – 8:00 pm Wednesday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm  Thursday: 9:00 am -1:00 pm Volunteers are needed! Please contact the office (253-373-7494) if you'd like to help. Proceeds from the book fair support Glenridge programs.  Community News Kentridge High School  is offering a dance clinic for youth on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 9:00 - 2:30.
