Thank You! Looking forward to Fall - PTO WEEKLY UPDATE 6/14/2015

A big THANK YOU to all Glenridge parents, guardians and staff; because of you we had a wonderful school year! Your attendance, financial support and volunteer time made this year a success.  We saw so many of you at the Fall Carnival (the costumes were spectacular!), The Holiday Breakfast, Ice Skating Night, The Family Dance (you know how to move!), Movie Nights and more.  All of that support resulted in another year of field trip transportation for each grade, reading programs, classroom support and other school initiatives.  We look forward to hosting these events and new activities next year. I can't encourage you enough to participate with our PTO and volunteer at Glenridge, your lives will be enriched and your children will notice how much you value their education. As the school year comes to an end, we want to wish everyone who will not be back at Glenridge next year a happy future wherever life takes you. Have a happy summer and see you next year! The Glenridge PTO 2015-2016 PTO Board We are excited to announce the new PTO Board Members for the 2015-2016 school year! Please help us congratulate our continuing PTO President Julie Salazarand our continuing treasurer Beth Hillberry, Joining them will be Carissa Thornockas Recording Secretary and Brooke Johnson as Communications Secretary. We also have some wonderful volunteers that agreed to chair some of our events next year: Julie Salazar will chair the Fall Carnival and Holiday Breakfast, Lisa Rohlfing will chair the Family Dance and manage the Yearbook, Dee Miller will chair Staff Dinners and coordinate cooking at the Holiday Breakfast, Tara Estes will chair Box Tops and Labels for Education and Carissa Thornock will chair Family Movie Nights.  We also have several volunteers already to help on those committees. It's wonderful to start off the school year with so much help, but we will need many more of you to give your time.  If you'd like to help with one of the above (or something else) Please contact the PTO, we'd love to have you! Box Top and Labels for Education   Thanks to all of you we collected 10,298 Box Tops or $1029.80 and 22,969 Labels for Education points!   Thank you to all those who participated. Every Box Top and Label for Education counts and will help pay for our kids to go on field trips and have special events at school. The more we collect, the more our VOYAGERS receive throughout the year. Make sure you continue to clip and save over the summer! G.I.V.E. Winner Thanks to everyone who participated in our G.I.V.E. program and volunteered three hours of their time for your child and Glenridge. It's wonderful to see all the adults helping around the building! All of the names were entered into a drawing and we would like to Thank and Congratulate Raymond Swain, he won a gift card to Amazon! Thank you Art Docents! Thank you to all of our Art Docent volunteers.  It is because of you that we keep Art Alive in the classroom.  These docents dedicated their time to provide your child with projects that followed the Washington States visual arts education requirements (EALR’s).   Each grade level got to create  projects that taught different techniques of art using various types of media. If you would like to be one of these volunteers next year please fill out and return a form or contact the PTO. Happening This Week

Glenridge Green Team Garden & School Cleanup event All families, students, and interested community members can help us in the garden areas this summer to keep them nice and get ready for back-to-school! Make sure to watch your email or follow us on Facebook for how you can help! Value Village Donation Drive this Fall A no purchase fundraiser! Start saving items you, your kids and other family members no longer need or want and Glenridge will earn money from our donations. Value Village accepts: clothing, shoes, hats, scarves, jewelry, accessories, bags, wallets, bedding, towels, curtains, tablecloths, toys, small household goods and appliances, books, CD’s and DVD’s. More information to come next  year!

Prize Donations Needed We need prize donations for our Fall reading fundraiser. Can you support Glenridge through buying cute pencils, fun stickers or bookmarks? Can you purchase some $10 gift certificates to businesses around town? We can use this to help encourage participation in our new fall fundraiser. Costco and the Dollar Stores are great places.
