Summer Update - August 6, 2017

The Glenridge PTO Team is already hard at work making sure that the coming school year is going to be a great success and full of fun! Do you have a great idea? Want to help with the planning? Everyone is welcome! Contact the PTO to find out how you can get involved!

How You Can Help Glenridge

Just because it's summer doesn't mean you can't continue to help. There are lots of ways to contribute:
  • Shop Using AmazonSmile and Amazon will contribute .05% of all qualifying purchases.
  • Fred Meyer donates to Glenridge every time you use your Fred Meyer Rewards Card.
  • Register your Bartell Drug cards with eScrips and earn money for Glenridge with each visit.
  • Smith Brothers Farms earns $20 for Glenridge with every new sign up.
  • Keep saving all Box Tops each one earns, 10¢ for Glenridge.
  • Clip UPCs from Ticonderoga, Prang, Dixon & Das products, you'll earn Glenridge Prang Power Points that will be used toward new school supplies.
  • Use Shoparoo and your smartphone to take pictures of your shopping receipts.
  • You can write a check or send cash in any amount and even specify where you would like the money spent like Accelerated Reader, field trip transportation, drama program or classroom supplies. It's tax deductible too!
  • Be sure to check with your employer many great companies will make matching donations!

Summer Box Tops

Saving just one Box Top a week will help us on our way to our goal! Return 10 Box Tops to School by September 8th and get a treat.
Send them to school in a bag/envelope marked with your name and the name of your new teacher or download this flyer and return them attached.

Ice Cream Social

 
August 28th (please note the changed date) find out who your teacher is when class lists are posted at 6:00 p.m.While you're there you can have an ice cream, get a new book, learn about how to get involved with the PTO, sixth-grade camp, and more! Stop by the office table to ask questions, drop off Master Dismissal Plans, or pick up your bus pass (students registered after June 30, all others will be sent by mail). At 6:30 p.m. the building is opened so you can tour the school, see your new classroom, and even drop off school supplies!

Volunteer

Are you going to volunteer this school year? If you want to go on a field trip or help out in the classroom you need to register and be approved. Don't wait, sign up on VIPS now!

 

Are you a returning volunteer?

After August 15, you will need to log in with your user name and password, where you will need to update your information, agree to a new background check, and answer several questions.

School Supplies

With only a few weeks left of summer, it's time to start gathering school supplies! Find out what your student needs here. Be sure to follow our Facebook page for some of the best deals.


New School Hours

School starts at 9:15 a.m. this year and ends at 3:55 p.m. on MondayTuesdayThursday, and FridayWednesday release time is 1:55 p.m.

Be an Art Docent

In cooperation with The Interurban Center for the Arts (sponsored by the Green River Community College Foundation), Glenridge PTO volunteers provide monthly art lessons to all of our students. The Art Docent program at Glenridge gives our students an opportunity to learn about different artists and works of art from different cultures. We have a wonderful set of art to share this year; volunteer to help with this amazing program! Training classes are two hours long and start September 18thcontact us today!
