PTO WEEKLY UPDATE 05/10/15 - How You Can Help

Shout Out To:   All the parents and students who supported Staff Appreciation Week. All of the treats, gifts and fan mail were greatly appreciated by staff. All the volunteers who put in extra time to decorate the school and set up the staff breakfast and gifts.  PTO Meeting The next PTO Meeting is Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00 pm, free childcare is offered to those who need it. We want you to be apart of the planning process! Come help make plans for the 2015-2016 school year.  Your support is needed to help us carry on the Glenridge tradition of a Fall Carnival, Holiday Breakfast, Family Dance, Movie Nights and more. We will also be deciding on fundraisers for next year, without financial support, the school will not have Accelerated Reader, Raz Kids or field trip transportation. Help us make 2015-2016 another great year.

Voyager Pride Day Late start Wednesday, May 13th wear your Glenridge t-shirt or school colors (navy blue, forest green and maroon red) and show your Voyager pride! Contest Between now and June 5th, bring in your Box Tops and Labels in a bag/envelope marked with the student's name and the name of their teacher.  Send in your labels today!

Have You Ordered Your Yearbook? It's time to order your 2014-2015 Glenridge Yearbook. Look for order forms that came home in Friday Flyers March 27th  and April 17th or download and print information on the PTO website.  Did you know? Mr. Abernathy have been at Glenridge for 15 years and Mr. Kosty have been here for 7. Mrs. Watson, Mrs. Rodgers, and Mrs. Liechty have been working here for at least 19 years, when Glenridge was first established as an elementary school. Ms. Byers attended Glenridge as a student. She participated in 2 of the Drama Club plays. Mr. Kosty, and Mrs. Garrett our great custodian attended Kent School District schools as students. Lots of our teachers loved reading when they attended school, but they also loved recess, art, music and p.e., Mr. Kosty loved long division. Our great staff are dedicated to Glenridge during the day but have many interesting hobbies: Ms. Calonzo loves to walk her dog, Ms. Hoglund and Ms. Byers love to hike, Ms. Foss likes to snow ski, Mrs. Liechty likes to watch football and Coach has model trains.    Jamba Juice Tuesday Jamba Juice smoothie sales will happen during afternoon recess on May 19, 2015.  Remember to send $2 with your child to school!   Book Drive Spring cleaning? Make room on your bookshelves and set aside your unwanted books, books that you've outgrown and books that you loved and want to share. Later this year the PTO will be hosting a book sale, more details to follow.   Art Night and Book Sale Thursday, June 4th, come enjoy fun art activities and view the art created by your children in class throughout the year. Have some treats and go home with new books as well. More details to come.
