Book Fair Week - PTO Weekly Update 02-07-16

Ice Skate Night Lots of fun was had at Glenridge Ice Skating Night! Thanks for coming out everyone! A big THANK YOU to Sno-King Ice Arena in Renton! If you took pictures and would like to share them with the yearbook team; please send them to the PTO. Drama There is no drama rehearsals this week because of parent teacher conferences and there is no rehearsals the next week due to presidents week.  Please make sure to continue practicing your lines and singing along to the music.  Rehearsals resume on February 23rd. Parent Teacher Conferences Parent Teacher Conferences will take place all week, February 8-12, 2016 . Please check the date and time for your student’s conference and make plans to be there now. Students will be released from school at 12:38 p.m. all week. Kids do better in school when parents are involved in their academic lives. Attending parent-teacher conferences is a way to be involved and help your child succeed. Book Fair An amazing selection of books is headed your way!  At the Book Fair you will find something for everyone. Be sure to stop by the library after your conference with your teacher and take something fun to read home!  February 8th - February 11th Monday and Tuesday: 9:00 am – 7:30 pm Wednesday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm  Thursday: 9:00 am -1:00 pm There are still opportunities to volunteer.  Can you help? Staff Dinner The PTO is planning our next staff  dinner for Monday, February 8th at 5:30. Everyone works so hard during conference week, this gives them one less thing to worry about.  If you would like to contribute we are looking for  side dishes (the main dish will be provided) with an Italian theme: antipasto salads, fruit, dessert, soups, breads etc. Please let the PTO know if you will be bringing something. Items will need to be at the school on February 8th by 4:00 pm. Box Tops and Labels for Education Contest It's time to check your cabinets! Start sending in your Box Tops and Labels, the class that brings in the most between now and April 1st will get an extra recess! Second Place gets a special treat! Send them in today! Download a submission sheet here or send them to school in a bag/envelope marked with both your student's name and their teacher's. Donation Drive It's time to spring clean! Make room in your closets, set aside items that you no longer need or want and April 23rd 9:00 am - 1:00 pm bring them to Value Village (24034 104th Avenue SE). They will pay the PTO for the items you drop off.  The class with the most participation (student families that drop off items) will receive a prize. All proceeds will go to PTO programs like field trip transportation and classroom supplies. Superhero Day Where your favorite superhero gear! February 26th. Reading and Art Night March 1, 2016 6:00 - 7:30 at Glenridge. Fun reading stations, an art lesson provided by Glenridge Art Docents and more! Popcorn Friday Friday, March 4th, popcorn will be sold during afternoon recess. Remember to send 50¢ to school.  Spirit Day March 4th wear show your Voyager pride and wear your Glenridge shirt, or our school colors, navy, hunter green and maroon. Drama Parent Work Night March 4th 4:00 - 7:00, Please join us to put together sets, pain and make sure we have all the needed props to have a successful production.  Plan ahead, see the Glenridge PTO calendar here.
