Happy Summer - PTO Update 06-16-16

Thank You A big THANK YOU to all Glenridge parents, guardians and staff; because of you, we had a wonderful school year! Your attendance, financial support and volunteer time made this year a success.  We saw so many of you at the Fall Carnival (the costumes were amazing!), The Holiday Breakfast, Ice Skating Night, The Family Dance (you know how to move!), PTO Movie Nights and more.  All of that support resulted in another year of field trip transportation for each grade, reading programs, classroom support and other PTO programs. We look forward to hosting these events and new activities next year. I can't encourage you enough to participate with our PTO and volunteer at Glenridge, your lives will be enriched and your children will notice how much you value their education. As the school year comes to an end, we want to wish everyone who will not be back at Glenridge next year a happy future wherever life takes you. Have a happy summer and see you next year! The Glenridge PTO 2015-2016 PTO Board We are excited to announce the new PTO Board Members for the 2016-2017 school year! Please help us congratulate our continuing PTO Board; president Julie Salazar, treasurer Beth Hillberry, and secretary Brooke Johnson. We also have some wonderful volunteers that agreed to chair some of our events next year: Julie Salazar will chair the Fall Carnival and Holiday Breakfast, Lisa Rohlfing will chair the Family Dance and manage the Yearbook, and Tara Estes will chair Box Tops and Labels for Education. It's wonderful to start off the school year with so much help, but we will need many more of you to give your time.  If you'd like to help with one of the above (or something else) please contact the PTO, we'd love to have you! Hawaiian Day Celebrate the last day of school and the beginning of summer! Come to school tomorrow, June 17th in your best Hawaiian shirt! Lost and Found Cleanup Friday is the last day to claim lost items!    The Lost and Found rack is overflowing! Please have your child check the Lost and Found and claim missing items before the end of Friday, June 17th! Ask in the office about small items. Unclaimed items will be donated over the summer. Support Glenridge All Year! Just because it's summer doesn't mean you can't help.   There are lots of ways to contribute: Fred Meyer donates to Glenridge every time you use your Fred Meyer Rewards Card. ALL Fred Meyer Rewards Cards need to be relinked! https://www.fredmeyer.com/topic/community-rewards-4 Shop Using AmazonSmile and Amazon will contribute .05% of all qualifying purchases. http://smile.amazon.com/ Register your Bartell Drug card with eScrips and earn money for Glenridge each visit. It's tax deductible too! Be sure to check with your employer many great companies will make matching donations!

Yearbook 2015-2016 Do you still need a yearbook?  We will be selling before 9:00 - 9:30 and after school 12:30 - 12:45  on Friday or until we run out. Over 50 color pages of memories for $16! Update and Win Fred Meyer is requesting that all households supporting Glenridge PTO through their Community Rewards program re-link their Rewards cards to our organization. Each year Glenridge families donate over $400 just by shopping at Fred Meyer and using their Rewards Card. Relink before July 1stand continue to help Glenridge PTO. One Week to Go! Weekly Update 06-12-16

Jamba Juice Tuesday The last Jamba Juice Tuesday of the school year is during afternoon recess on June 14, 2016. Remember to send $2 with your kids to school! Proceeds support Glenridge PTO programs, like field trip transportation. S.I.T. Meeting Join us for the last S.I.T. Meeting of the school year, June 14, 2016,  4:00 pm - 5:30 pm in the Glenridge library. The School Improvement Team (S.I.T.) is a team of staff, parents and community members who meet monthly to discuss and guide Glenridge’s yearly plan for improvement. This includes overseeing the School Improvement Plan, communicating progress, and providing input on important school activities. It's a great way to get to know your school and have a say in what is going on. PTO Meeting The Last Glenridge PTO meeting of the school year is Tuesday, June 14th at 7:00 pm in the Glenridge library, free childcare is provided. We want you to be a part of the planning process! Come help make plans for the 2016 - 2017 school year.  Your support is needed to help us carry on the Glenridge tradition of a Fall Carnival, Holiday Breakfast, Family Dance, Movie Nights and more. We will also be deciding on fundraisers for next year. Without financial support, the school will not have Accelerated Reader, Raz Kids or field trip transportation. Re-enroll your Rewards Card to  And continue earning donations by shopping! Not a member yet? You can link your card and help, keep reading to find out how! Fred Meyer is requesting that all households that are supporting Glenridge PTO through their Community Rewards program re-link their cards to our organization.   Shopping at Fred Meyer and using your Rewards Card has helped the PTO raise an additional $400 every year. Here's how to re-enroll/link your Rewards Card to Glenridge PTO: Relink your card to our Community Rewards program by logging into your account. Every time you shop and use your Rewards Card you continue to help us earn a donation! Remember, you still earn your Rewards Points, Fuel Points, and Rebates. Once you have re-enrolled/linked your account let us know and be entered to win a  gift basket from the SafeSplash Swim School (the Renton/Fairwood location, inside LA Fitness). Get a month of free swim lessons (4 swim lessons, 30 minutes each – $75 value), a swim cap, water bottle, a pair of goggles, sunglasses, pencils, and stickers. The total value of this basket is $150.00! Box Top Contest Ends - PTO Weekly Update 06-5-16

Thank You A big THANK YOU to everyone who made our Art Night and Book Sale a success! With the help of all the art docents, the volunteers, the Glenridge staff, everyone who brought treats, and donated books everyone was able to have a wonderful night of art and activities. Thank you Art Docents Thank you to all of our Art Docent volunteers. It's because of you that we keep Art Alive in the classroom.  Our docents dedicated their time to provide your child with projects that followed the Washington State visual arts education requirements. Each grade level got to create projects that taught different techniques of art using various types of media. Please consider becoming an Art Docent for the 2016-2017 school year. You teach one lesson per month to a class. Training and supplies are provided. Contact the PTO to help! Box Tops and Labels for Education Contest It's the last contest of the school year! Make sure to turn your Box Tops and Labels by Friday, June 10th. Be sure to check the pantry, fridge and freezer. Remember to send all your labels in an envelope/bag marked with your name and your teacher's name. Order Your Yearbook It’s time to place your 2015-2016 yearbook order! Attention Volunteers Be a part of the team! Research shows that when families get involved in school, children do better.  No matter how you help; in the classroom, as an art docent, or on field trips; you need to fill out a volunteer form and have your fingerprints taken. Fingerprints take 6 weeks to process, be ready for next year call the Glenridge office to make an appointment (253-373-7494).  Lost and Found Cleanup The Lost and Found rack is overflowing.
