PTO Update 10/1/17

Why We Are a PTO  As a PTA there are membership dues we have to charge each parent or teacher to be part of the club and then we have to give a portion to different organizations (dues as of 2015: Kent Area Council $1.75, Washington State PTA $5.75 and National PTA $2.25 = $9.75) all before Glenridge sees any, as a PTO we have chosen to not charge membership dues, and when you decide to donate 100% of what you give to the PTO stays at Glenridge to benefit our students. If you have a student enrolled at Glenridge or are a member of the staff you are a member of our PTO.  Everyone's voices and ideas are welcome. We encourage you to participate: Come to our meetings the next one is October 10th Follow us on Facebook - participate in the discussions (make sure you see our posts), where you can see a live stream of our meetings Join us at social events (the next one is the 2017 Fall Carnival, October 20) Participate in our Fundraisers: Big Kahuna, Box Tops, Jamba Juice, Popcorn, Glenridge Eats Out Support our students and staff  - volunteer in the classroom or at PTO events "When parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school. And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better." Together we can make Glenridge the best! Big Kahuna Fundraiser It's last week of our fundraiser and everyone is doing so well! But we still need your support! Remember, your out-of-state relatives and friends can also help us out by shopping online! Check your packet for information on how to set up an account for your student and email out your link! Remember online orders count towards your prize goal! Thank you for helping Glenridge! * All students who set up an online account can redeem their red ticket for one Stackimal! Be sure to send it and all other Stackimal tickets to school on Mondays and Wednesdays for exchange at lunch. Popcorn Friday Friday, October 6, 2017, popcorn will be sold during afternoon recess. Remember to send 50¢ to school. Please send the exact change, it will help the process move faster and give students more time to enjoy their popcorn. Money raised will support Glenridge programs.

SIT Meeting The School Improvement Team (SIT) meeting is Tuesday, October 10, 2017, from 4:10 pm - 5:10 pm in the Glenridge Library. As part of a collaboration of staff, parents and community members you will help establish plans for improvement and change, hear about opportunities to get involved and make an impact in your child's education. PTO Meeting Join us for the next Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Glenridge Library. Congratulations to Savannah in Miss. Humphreys' class she brought in over $10 by herself! Savannah will receive a wristband for the inflatables at our Fall Carnival October 20th! How many can you clip and send in for our next contest? Ending October 27th, the class that collects the most will win free popcorn in November! Remember to keep asking, friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to help out, and try the  Box Top app for an easy way to clip extra labels. Barnes & Noble Kent School District Bookfair  Join us Saturday, October 7, 2017, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Southcenter Barnes & Noble.  There will be storytime, crafts, activities, and games as we celebrate literacy throughout Kent School District.
