PTO Weekly Update 05-08-16

Thank You! A big THANK YOU to all of the families and students who gave their time and support for this year's Staff Appreciation Week. With notes, treats, decorations and lunch we were able to come together in a great show of gratitude to the fabulous staff at Glenridge. A special thanks to some of our hardest workers Julie Salazar, Dee Miller and Beth Hillberry. PTO Family Movie Night A 12-year-old orphan, Peter is spirited away to the magical world of Neverland, where he finds both fun and danger, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan. Come see Pan on PTO Movie Night, Friday, May 13, 2016 at 6:30 in the cafeteria. This is a free event for students and their families. Concessions will be available for purchase; funds raised will support school programs. This is not a drop off event; children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

PTO Meeting Join us for the next Parent Teacher Organization meeting, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Glenridge Library. Free childcare is provided. We welcome everybody, the PTO is for all parents and guardians. Have ideas you want to share?  This is the place to do it! Can't be there? Contact us by email. SIT Meeting The School Improvement Team meeting is Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm in the Glenridge Library. As part of a collaboration of staff, parents and community members you will help establish plans for improvement and change, hear about opportunities to get involved and make an impact in your child's education.

Yearbook Orders It’s time to place your 2015-2016 yearbook order! Get more than 50 pages of colorful memories to treasure all for only $16!  Send in your order today!   Used Book Drive Spring cleaning? Set aside your unwanted books, books that you've outgrown, books that you loved and want to share and other media like magazines, movies and video games. This June the PTO will be hosting a used book sale, more details to follow. Box Tops and Labels for Education Contest The last contest of the school year is here! Turn in your Box Tops and Labels to your teacher (your name and teacher's name on the envelope) by June 10th!  Winning class gets ice cream! Menchie's Night Come to Menchie's Night May 19th 4:00 - 9:00 pm, see your friends and have a yummy treat!  Don't forget your flyer! Jamba Juice Tuesday Tuesday, May 24th, Jamba Juice will be sold during afternoon recess. Remember to send $2 to school. Exact change will help the process move faster and give students more time to enjoy their treat. Money raised supports Glenridge programs. Sports Day Show your team pride on sports day!  Friday, May 27th dress in your favorite professional team's colors, logos, jersey or even the jersey from your own sports team. Art Walk Come see the art your students have created under the guidance of the Art Docent program, put June 2nd on your calendar now. Popcorn Friday Friday, June 3rd, popcorn will be sold during afternoon recess. Remember to send 50¢ to school. Please send the exact change, it will help the process move faster and give students more time to enjoy their popcorn. Money raised will support Glenridge programs.
