SIT Meeting The School Improvement Team meeting is Monday, May 23, 2016 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm in the Glenridge Library. Get involved and make an impact in your child's education. Jamba Juice Tuesday Jamba Juice smoothie sales will take place during afternoon recess on Tuesday, May 24th. Remember to send $2 with your child to school! Proceeds support Glenridge PTO programs, like field trip transportation.

Join the PTO Board Participation through volunteering allows you to be involved with your child's education. Research indicates that when families are involved, a child is more apt to get higher grades, be more likely to graduate, and go on to college. Our children love to see us around the school. Book Drive Bring your unwanted book and other media (comics, magazines, DVDs) to Glenridge by May 27th and leave them in one of the marked boxes. June 2nd the PTO will be hosting a used book sale at Art Night. Menchie's Night - Weekly Update 5-15-16

Menchie's Night Menchie's Night is Thursday, May 19th, 4:00 - 9:00 pm (14024 SE Petrovitsky Road)! Come enjoy frozen yogurt and support our school, 20% of your purchase will be donated to the Glenridge PTO and used towards PTO programs! You MUST present your flyer at time of purchase (check your Friday Flyers or print one here). Print extras to share with friends and family, anyone with a flyer will help Glenridge! Relay for Life This week, May 16th - May 20th is Mini-Relay at Glenridge!  Mini-Relay is an extension of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. Relay for life is an event that helps educate people about cancer. All week long students will be learning about making healthy choices with an entire week of lesson plans and fun activities, ending in a Mini-Relay on Friday. Help us by raising money in our Silver Sabotage!  Students will have 5 minutes at the beginning of every day to put copper coins (pennies) into their classroom jugs and silver coins (nickels, dimes and quarters) into the jugs of other classrooms, at the end of the week the class with the most copper wins a prize! Have Fun all week long by participating in school wide spirit days! Monday: "Hats off to Being Smoke-Free" - Hat Day Tuesday: "Stay Healthy and Exercise" - Favorite Sports Team Day Wednesday: "Shade Out Cancer" - Sunglasses Day Thursday: "Survivor Day" - Wear Purple to Celebrate Our Survivors Friday: "Superhero Day" - Dress as a Superhero and Fight Against Cancer

PTO Weekly Update 05-08-16

Thank You! A big THANK YOU to all of the families and students who gave their time and support for this year's Staff Appreciation Week. With notes, treats, decorations and lunch we were able to come together in a great show of gratitude to the fabulous staff at Glenridge. A special thanks to some of our hardest workers Julie Salazar, Dee Miller and Beth Hillberry. PTO Family Movie Night A 12-year-old orphan, Peter is spirited away to the magical world of Neverland, where he finds both fun and danger, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan. Come see Pan on PTO Movie Night, Friday, May 13, 2016 at 6:30 in the cafeteria. This is a free event for students and their families. Concessions will be available for purchase; funds raised will support school programs. This is not a drop off event; children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Staff Appreciation Week! May 2nd - May 6th is Glenridge Staff Appreciation Week! We’d like to invite all Glenridge students and their families to show their gratitude to the Glenridge staff all week! The following are optional activities that you can choose to participate in, do one or all five; remember to keep it simple, follow all school rules and have fun! • Monday - Mail Day - Tell a teacher or staff member how they make your day better! Print out this sheet at home or check your Friday Flyers for one sent home last week. • Tuesday - Dress Like a Farmer or Gardener - Wear your straw hat and overalls! Let’s encourage everyone to Bloom and Grow! • Wednesday - Come in Your Best - Show the staff your best self today! • Thursday - Supply Day - Bring in a needed school supply or a treat for someone on staff! • Friday - Show Your School Spirit - Wear your school shirt or our school colors navy blue, hunter green and maroon!

THANK YOU! A big THANK YOU to Glazed Art in Renton for welcoming Glenridge families and helping them create some fun art to take home.  If you didn't make it to the fundraiser make time to stop by, you'll be glad you did. THANK YOU to Value Village in Kent and to all the families who dropped items off!  With your help we raised $423 to put towards Glenridge PTO programs!  Mrs Kuske's class will be enjoying an extra recess!   Thank you to the Glenridge Staff and all the volunteers that made Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Night such a huge success.  All the students and their families had a great time!  Did you have your picture taken in the Career Photo Booth?  You can download them now! Go to our Smugmug Gallery to find yours! Use the password on your card. (watch for the tricky spelling!) Congratulations to Mrs. Hoglunds Class! Mrs.Hogland's class brought in 350 Box Tops and Labels for Education and will be enjoying an extra recess soon! Ms. Little's class came in second place in this contest and will get a special treat!
