Popcorn Friday
Friday, October 7, 2016, popcorn will be sold during afternoon recess. Remember to send 50¢ to school. Please send the exact change, it will help the process move faster and give students more time to enjoy their popcorn. Money raised will support Glenridge programs.
Apply to Volunteer at Glenridge
Are you going to volunteer this year? If you want to help out in the classroom, on a field trip or around the school (even after hours), you need to apply online to be a part of Kent School District VIPS - Volunteers in Public Schools. Once your application has been approved you will be able to assist in school learning, activities, and events at Glenridge. Be a part of a team that is successfully preparing all students for their futures.
SIT Meeting
The School Improvement Team (SIT) meeting is Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm in the Glenridge Library. As part of a collaboration of staff, parents and community members you will help establish plans for improvement and change, hear about opportunities to get involved and make an impact in your child's education.
PTO Meeting
Join us for the next Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Glenridge Library. Free childcare for school age children is provided. We welcome everybody, the PTO is for all parents and guardians. Have ideas you want to share? This is the place to do it! Can't be there? Contact us by email.
Late Start
Wednesday, October 12, 2016, is a late start day. Glenridge will begin 1 hour and 45 minutes later than the normal start time at 11:15. Buses will also pick up students 1 hour and 45 minutes later than the regularly scheduled pickup time.
Fall Carnival
The Glenridge Fall Carnival will take place Friday, October 21, 2016. We will need many volunteers to help run this event. If you would like to help please make sure you have applied through VIPS and contact the PTO for jobs that are available.
Candy to give out as game prizes is needed! If you'd like to help please drop a bag off at the office marked for the PTO. (Mamba, Regular Tootsie Rolls, Twizzlers Licorice, Laffy Taffy, Smarties, Dum Dums, and Wonka Candy are nut free and would make great contributions)
If you'd like to provide cakes, cookies or brownies to be used as cake walk prizes (store bought or homemade is wonderful), they can be dropped off the afternoon of October 21st in the Glenridge Office .
November 18th and 19th, we will be collecting items for a donation drive with Value Village. They will pay the PTO for the items you drop off at Glenridge. As you find things you no longer need please set them aside for this event! All proceeds will go to PTO programs like field trip transportation and classroom supplies.
