Happy Holidays With sincere appreciation for all of your help and support, we wish you all the joys this holiday season has to offer. Have a safe and happy break with your family and friends.  Winter Break December 19, 2015 - January 3, 2016. Jamba Juice Tuesday Jamba Juice smoothie sales will take place during afternoon recess on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.  Remember to send $2 with your child to school! Proceeds support Glenridge PTO programs, like field trip transportation and classroom support. Winter Wear Day Friday, December 18th join the Student Council in a school wide Fun Day! This theme day students are encouraged to wear holiday/winter themed or winter clothes! Help start our winter break in style! Drama Announcements Role announcements for Hook and Peter Pan: How it all Began, will be made December 15th 3:45 -5:00!  Be there to get your rehearsal schedule and do our first script read through! Spirit Shirts Voyager shirts were delivered to teachers on Friday, if they are not already home, please expect them next week. Learn2Earn  Winners in our Learn2Earn Fundraiser drawings will be announced Monday, December 14th!

Box Tops and Labels for Education Be sure to watch for Box Tops and Labels for Education when you are shopping and doing your holiday cooking and baking.  A new contest is coming soon!  Wondering what to save or where to save them? Fred Meyer Rewards By using your Rewards Card when you shop at Fred Meyer you are helping. Link your Rewards card to Glenridge PTO and every time you do your family shopping or stop off to pick up milk you'll be supporting Glenridge Students and Teachers. Reptile Man January 6th at 6:30 there will be an evening Reptile Man assembly. Admission is $1 per person. Watch for more information coming home soon. Drama Rehearsal Rehearsals begin for Hook and Peter Pan: How it all Began, January 6th from3:45 - 5:00 and will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon (if school is in session) until March 24th. Spirit Day January 8th wear show your Voyager pride and wear your Glenridge shirt, or our school colors, navy, hunter green and maroon. SIT Meeting Join the School Improvement Team, Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 4:00 in the Glenridge library. Help establish plans for improvement and change, get involved in activities and events, Impact your child's education. PTO Meeting The next PTO Meeting is Tuesday, January 12, 2016  at 7:00 pm in the Glenridge library. Free childcare is provided. We welcome everybody, the PTO is for all parents and guardians. The Fall Carnival is Friday - PTO Update 10-16-16

Glenridge PTO Fall Carnival Ticket Presales are due Monday, October 17, 2016, make sure to send inorders tomorrow! The Glenridge Fall Carnival will take place Friday, October 21, 2016.  We will need many volunteers to help run this event.  If you would like to help please contact the PTO for jobs that are available. Treats are also needed: Cakes, cookies or brownies to be used as cake walk prizes (store bought or homemade is wonderful) can be dropped off at the office October 20th and October 21st Candy to give out as game prizes (Mamba, Regular Tootsie Rolls, Twizzler Licorice, Laffy Taffy, Smarties and Wonka Candy are nut free and would make great contributions) can be left at the office now through October 21st. Goal Setting Conferences  Goal Setting Conferences will take place all week, October 24-28, 2016. Please check the date and time for your student’s conference. Students will be released from school at 12:38 p.m. all week. Teachers have been busy assessing students, reviewing student data, and setting goals for each student in reading, writing, and math. With those goals in mind, teachers are also teaching students to set similar goals and will be sharing those plans with parents at conferences. We believe this process will be more meaningful to both you and the students. Setting goals for learning is a natural part of our teaching and learning process and student learning becomes even more meaningful when children and parents are given the opportunity for participation. Teaching students to set goals is also a component of our state learning standards and instructional models. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn the self-evaluation process. Helping our students to understand and achieve their learning goals is one important step in successfully preparing all students for their future.  Spirit Wear Orders Order your $11 Voyager shirt! If you want to help out in the classroom, on a field trip or around the school (even after hours), you need to apply online to be a part of Kent School District VIPS - Volunteers in Public Schools. Once your application has been approved you will be able to assist in school learning, activities, and events at Glenridge. Be a part of a team that is successfully preparing all students for their futures. Volunteers Needed We need volunteers on Wednesday, November 9th, for the fundraiser delivery. If you can help please contact the PTO. • Help set up at 1:30 • Pass out items 3:00 - 5:00 • Hearing and Vision Screening Day October 18th is Hearing and Visions Screening Day for grades 1,2,3 and 5. If your child wears glasses please make sure they have them at school on the 18th.

This year our goal is $1000 in Box Tops, we can reach it if each student brings in 22 labels. Between now and October 24th, bring in your Box Tops in a bag/envelope marked with your student's name and their teacher. The class with the most participants and the class that collects the most will win prizes! Each label is worth 10¢! Send in your labels today!

Help Glenridge Everyday Link Your Fred Meyer Card to Glenridge Fred Meyer is requesting that all households supporting Glenridge PTO through their Community Rewards program re-link their Rewards cards to our organization. Each year Glenridge families donate over $400 just by shopping at Fred Meyer and using their Rewards Card. Relink and continue to help or sign up and start helping Glenridge PTO today. Value Village Donation Drive - PTO Update 11-13-16

Big Kahuna Fundraiser • We are so thankful for all of your hard work on this fundraiser! A big THANK YOU to all of you for supporting your students, the PTO, and Glenridge in our fundraising efforts. Because of you, we raised over $7000 for Glenridge PTO programs. • Thank you to all of you that helped with deliveries! We couldn't have done it without you! PTO Family Movie Night & Value Village Donation Drive Come see Zootopia! PTO Family Movie Night is Friday, November 18th at 6:30pm. In a city of anthropomorphic animals, a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy. This is a free event for students and their families. Concessions will be available for purchase; funds raised will support school programs. This is not a drop-off event, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Value Village Donation Drive  is Friday, November 18th 6:30pm - 8:00pm  and Saturday, November 19th 9:00am - 11:30am Bring your unwanted items to Glenridge and fill our U-Haul! Donations support Glenridge PTO programs like field trip transportation, reading programs and classroom supplies. The class with the most participation will win extra recess time! National Parent Involvement Day National Parent Involvement Day is Thursday, November 17th.  We'd like to take this time to tell each of you THANK YOU for all that you are doing to help the students, teachers, staff and the Glenridge PTO. Would you like to be more involved at school? It's easy, and always appreciated! There is lots to do and lots of ways you can help. No amount of time is too little! Popcorn Friday Friday, November 18th, popcorn will be sold during afternoon recess. Remember to send 50¢ to school. Please send the exact change, it will help the process move faster and give students more time to enjoy their popcorn. Money raised will support Glenridge programs.
