Happy Holidays With sincere appreciation for all of your help and support, we wish you all the joys this holiday season has to offer. Have a safe and happy break with your family and friends.  Winter Break December 19, 2015 - January 3, 2016. Jamba Juice Tuesday Jamba Juice smoothie sales will take place during afternoon recess on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.  Remember to send $2 with your child to school! Proceeds support Glenridge PTO programs, like field trip transportation and classroom support. Winter Wear Day Friday, December 18th join the Student Council in a school wide Fun Day! This theme day students are encouraged to wear holiday/winter themed or winter clothes! Help start our winter break in style! Drama Announcements Role announcements for Hook and Peter Pan: How it all Began, will be made December 15th 3:45 -5:00!  Be there to get your rehearsal schedule and do our first script read through! Spirit Shirts Voyager shirts were delivered to teachers on Friday, if they are not already home, please expect them next week. Learn2Earn  Winners in our Learn2Earn Fundraiser drawings will be announced Monday, December 14th!

Box Tops and Labels for Education Be sure to watch for Box Tops and Labels for Education when you are shopping and doing your holiday cooking and baking.  A new contest is coming soon!  Wondering what to save or where to save them? Fred Meyer Rewards By using your Rewards Card when you shop at Fred Meyer you are helping. Link your Rewards card to Glenridge PTO and every time you do your family shopping or stop off to pick up milk you'll be supporting Glenridge Students and Teachers. Amazon Smile Make sure you are using Amazon Smile, when you shop at Amazon and make sure Glenridge is selected to help our school.

Reptile Man January 6th at 6:30 there will be an evening Reptile Man assembly. Admission is $1 per person. Watch for more information coming home soon. Drama Rehearsal Rehearsals begin for Hook and Peter Pan: How it all Began, January 6th from3:45 - 5:00 and will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon (if school is in session) until March 24th. Spirit Day January 8th wear show your Voyager pride and wear your Glenridge shirt, or our school colors, navy, hunter green and maroon. Weekly Update 11-29-15

Glenridge PTO Annual Holiday Breakfast Bring your family and get in the Spirit of the Season! Saturday, December 5, 2015 9:00 am - 11:00 am in the Glenridge Cafeteria • Enjoy a hot pancake breakfast.  • Have your picture taken in our photo booth. • Listen to performances by Glenridge students. • Activities for the kids. • Let the kids shop for family and friends in a shop designed just for them. • Win prizes in our holiday raffle. Tickets sold for $3 each or 4 for $10 at the door. (Lots of things that would make great gifts; including tickets to the Disneyland Resort!) We kindly ask that you donate $3 a person, or an amount you are comfortable with; proceeds will benefit Providence Regina House. Holiday Breakfast Volunteers Needed There are several spots open at our Holiday Breakfast that we could use some help filling.  Are you free to give an hour or more the morning of December 5th?  We are also looking for a face painter, if you or anyone you know would like to help please contact the PTO! Late Start Spirit Wear Day Wednesday, December 2 school starts at 11:30, no breakfast will be served, please don't arrive at school before 11:10 (Art Club participants should meet in the commons at 9:45 - preregistration is required). Wear your Glenridge t-shirt or our school colors (navy blue, forest green and maroon) and show your Voyager pride!  • If you placed a spirit shirt  order watch for it to come home the week of December 7!

Learn2Earn Donations This is the last week to fulfill the pledges/donations you made to students during our Learn2Earn Read-a-Thon Fundraiser.  We are still waiting on approximately $400 to be submitted. Please remind friends and family that December 3rd is the last day to send in their donations. Donations may still be submitted by anyone with an invitation from a student and amounts can be adjusted both up and down.  Please check your email for something from Learn2Earn to submit online or send in cash or check to the PTO as soon as possible. When everything is accounted for we can award prizes! Popcorn Friday Friday, December 4th, popcorn will be sold during afternoon recess. Remember to send 50¢ to school. Please send the exact change, it will help the process move faster and give students more time to enjoy their popcorn. Money raised will support Glenridge programs. Tie Your Shoes! Untied shoes are dangerous when you are running around having fun! Teach your kids to tie their own shoelaces!

THANK YOU! Thank you to each of you and the  Kent, Value Village!  So many of you came out Saturday to Value Village and donated things you no longer needed! We collected 2,866 pounds or another $357.00 to go support Glenridge PTO programs like Accelerated Reader, drama and field trip transportation! Look for another Value Village event in the future! Glenridge Food Drive The Glenridge Student Council is holding their annual food drive. Help local families have enough to eat this winter. Please bring in items November 16th - November 19th.  Must be non-perishable (canned, dried, not frozen) Must be in original containers with original label No glass jars No home-canned foods Paper towels Toilet tissue Facial tissue Soaps/shampoo

Learn2Earn Read-A-Thon Fundraiser A very big THANK YOU to everyone who helped bring our Learn2Earn fundraiser to a successful end. While numbers are still being totaled and money is still being collected, it looks like we just hit our goal of $5,000! A big achievement! We couldn't have done it without each of you. Grand totals and awards will be announced at the beginning of December after everyone has had a chance to send in offline donations (please encourage family and friends to take care of it quickly). We'd love to know what your thoughts on using Learn2Earn; would you like to see it next year? was it easy to use? did you feel you had enough information?  Please send in your thoughts to the PTO or come to the next meeting (11-10-15 @7:00) and be part of the planning! After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. This is a free event for students and their families.
